I am so frustrated with blogger right now! I have been trying to post to let you know whats been going on in our lives but sadly, every time i go to upload, it shuts down. Well, that is somewhat my fault...Apparently I have used up 99.9% of the memory...I didn't realize there was a limit but i'm sure all my photos have had something to do with that. I am currently looking into saving all of our past info and some important and favorite entries and putting it into a book...I am looking forward to getting back to normal posting! Don't forget about us! We have so much we want to share...

Ever had an "Okay,God" moment?

Our pastor is doing a new series on wisdom and rightfully so, we are studying the book of Proverbs. Before starting the message, he asked us to think if there was one thing we could have, anything at all, what would you ask for?

Safety. My immediate, motherly, thought. To keep my family healthy, my kids comforted and protected in safety. I worry about them in this crazy, fallen world all the time and never want them to hurt or be lonely.

He went on to talk about Solomon and when God asked him, Solomon's reply was wisdom. Huh? I'm not a simpleton but I don't care much to go back to college. Who is this old man Solomon? Wisdom. that sounds like a boring, 'unimportant' thing to ask God for. (I know wisdom is important but in the grand scheme of things...) Pastor challenged us to read a chapter in Proverbs everyday. That night I cracked open my bible and was schooled by the Lord Almighty. The very last passage in Proverbs 1 reads...

"but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.”

Okay, God.

I have a lot of wonderful students in my class with awesome families.

But today, one stood out among the rest.

'Huntsman' (We'll just call him) was playing on the playground like any other day. We were talking and he was excited to tell me he wouldn't be in school tomorrow because they were going to Jacksonville to pick up his father. His dad, serving about 16 years, is a Captain in the US Navy and his family has proudly stood alongside him. Tomorrow, my little Huntsman is driving with his mother to welcome him home after this recent deployment of 9 months. He is thrilled and I would love the opportunity to be there and cheer them on, watching from the sideline. I mentioned what a wonderful Christmas present this would be and Huntsman smiled but said, "I don't need presents- We don't get gifts for Christmas because it's not our day, it's Jesus'". His mother shook her head in agreement and explained to me they take Christmas day to go out and serve others because that sounds like a better way to give to Christ on His birthday. No presents. No gifts. Just time & effort given selflessly to others in honor and respect for the newborn in the manger.

WOW. This struck me today as I think about all of the hustle and bustle of this season. As a mother, I get caught up in the busyness and look forward to getting my kids certain gifts and seeing their joy. But let's take it a step farther and ponder the eternal gifts that would mean so much more to my children. Huntsman was not sad or bothered by not having anything under his tree on Christmas morning. And of all families to 'give up' their Christmas. They already give their dad and husband to an ungrateful, selfish world. Our military families deserve so much because they give so much. But they don't see it that way. After Thanking Mrs. Huntsman, she simply replied, "It's just what we do". Thank you, Huntsman for 'getting it'. Thank you Mrs. Huntsman for instilling in your child something that matters. Thank you Mr. Huntsman for serving so nobly. I salute you and your family.

May He receive all the glory.

I listened to Vince Gill's first Christmas album and watched Carrie Underwood as she respectively won American Idol--but this duet shows their maturity and character and joy to have salvation through Jesus. This is why I love Christ and country. If you are looking to be inspired or looking for a Savior, this is a taste of what God can give those who trust in Him. Family Reunion- part 1

We went to my in-laws cabin in NC to get away for a week before I went back to work. Sarah and Peter flew out from Denver and Angie and her kids met us there as well. What a nice way to end a maternity leave! The weather was perfect and the time was relaxing. We wanted to do family photos on our own in the meadow down the path from the house. Fishy Coffee

I was giving Isaac a bath tonight and like always, we were playing with his bath toys. One is a Pelican Pitcher (used to rinse off soap) and he was scooping and pouring.

He asked me if I wanted coffee (which i'm still not sure where he learned what coffee was) and i said, "Oh yes, coffee sounds yummy." He grinned and turned his back to me and began to fill up the picther.

Once he turned around he was almost giggling as he 'offered me a drink'. I said thank you and pretended to drink it.

Then, he started to laugh. "Dats not COFFEE Silly Mommy! Ew! Ew! Don't drink the fish water! Da waters got fishies in it!" Then he poured out the pitcher and out fell Nemo and Dory fish toys.

Practical jokes at 2 1/2? Oh momma, we're in trouble =)

I was tucking Isaac into bed last night and told him that he was getting too big!
"Yeah, I AM too BIG!" he said. "I SUPER big! I going to go up, up, up, to the ceiling! I grow allda way up there!"

"No, don't grow too big too quick," I said. I started to give him smothering kisses and my smart son replied,
"GENTLE mom, gentle".

I started to laugh and asked, "Isaac where did you learn that? Who taugh you the word, Gentle"?

"You!" (and after I started laughing again, he said...) "Silly Mommy."

Isaac hasn't had a big desire to use the bathroom. After many unique and fun attempts to get him to use the toilet (two different potty seats, treats, examples, kid books, etc) I realized that this is a battle I will not force. When he is ready, he WILL do it. He is smart and resourceful and stubborn.

I was making dinner and Matt was coming in from outside yard work when our son came around the corner and quietly said, "I need to go potty."

I looked at Matt and questioned, "What did he say?!"

I ran Isaac into the bathroom and there was a tiny amount of #2 (so he started and stopped himself--very big!) I sat him on the toilet and went to his room to get another diaper. Before I could make it back I heard my son yell proudly, "I did it! I did it! I went pee and poop on the potty!!"

And he did!

I gave him a handful of marshmallows and made a sticker chart to encourage him. He has been 'successful' a number of times now and I made him a sticker chart so he can see how well he is doing.

We are so proud of his little accomplishment, whatever it may mean.

This is a collection of photos my mother-in-law took with her new camera. Alaina is 10 days old here. I was worried before she was born at how I could adore another baby any more than I adore Isaac or how I could manage to share my love with two kids....God is so good and I know nothing. I didn't have to split or divvy anything up. He just gave me more room in my heart. There is just an abundance of joy and love He bestows to ordinary parents like us and His grace covers all of our shortcomings and doubts. We are so thankful the Lord allowed us to grow and raise these two beautiful, sweet blessings. I will say these pictures are my new favorites--especially with both my children...

Tuesday @ 2:30am

I woke up and realized something was different.

I thought it was my water leaking but not like a huge gush or anything. After sitting up every 25 mins and knew that it wasn't pee. I also had light, irregular contractions and tried to sleep some of it off until morning.

7:00 am

I told Matt what had been happening and that I thought it was my water. He told me to call my Dr and once I spoke with them, to call him and he'd be right home. (his work is 2 mins away)

7:45am

Dr said I should go to the hospital so they can check and test what it may be. Matt came home and put our things in the car, just in case it was for real... We dropped Isaac off at Grandma Chris' house and he gave me a kiss and said, "Go to the doctor, Mommy".

8:45am

Arrived at Winnie Palmer and 10 mins later was admitted to triage. My contractions were more consistant but not too painful. At this point i was at 2cm. After some tests, they confirmed that my water had ruptured and gave me an IV and did bloodwork. We were on monitors for another hour while waiting for a room.

11:30am

Got settled in our labor and delievery room for the main event. It was a pretty quiet afternoon. I sat on the birthing ball eating ice chips and chicken broth which was divine considering i was in labor.. at 4 centimeters, I decided to call for my epidural. She put it lower in my back than where it was with Isaac and had to re-thread it b/c it curled inside a blood vessel. Besides that and the contractions which were very different than with my son-Things were so smooth. I made it to 6cm and then things took off. I felt a different kind of pressure the epidural wasn't helping with and called the nurse (Gina-the most awesome RN ever!) I told Matt, I felt like i needed to push! She rushed out after checking me b/c in 45 mins, I went from 6cm to 10. I had dr Diebel with me the whole time until now--There was another patient much worse off than me and thats when dr Jones took over. My mom just made it here and came in the room asking if we were at 7cm yet. The nurse said, "mom we're complete and getting ready to push!"

Dr Jones walked in, i pushed for 10 mins and she was here! Praise the Lord for a wonderful delivery and a beautiful baby girl! She is so perfect.

3 days to due date...

To my surprise, my sister came in town and will be here for two weeks to help with the baby. My close cousin, Shannon and her boyfriend also are here along with my aunt and uncle from Georgia. Unfortunately, they have to leave Wednesday and baby girl isn't here yet...

Went to the doctor today and things are fine. Still 1cm which was disheartening but over 40% effaced and making progress thinning out. He had a hard time checking me today because my cervix was tilted (new issue). He didn't seem worried but it makes me nervous b/c Google said it can end in c-section (DONT WANT ONE). Her heartbeat is loud and proud and made Dr. Diebel laugh..."she's as happy as a clam in there!" great. I told Matt I've always been a great hostess...incubating my child apparently is no different. I just want her to be happy and healthy and to deliver her without surgery. and soon. =)

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's waiting to greet the world! She continues to build a layer of fat to help control her body temperature after birth, but it's likely she already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of her skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

I wanted to do something different than the flowery fluff, disney princess theme or the shabby chic idea. I've been stuck on this thought of a little ice cream parlor at Disney's boardwalk called 'Beaches and Cream'. Matt and I celebrated our 1st wedding Anniversary at disneys yacht & beach and ate at the little place--so cute. I thought it'd be fun and would carry a little longer than a 'baby room idea'.

So here is my take on it. We still need to get letters for her name/initials to hang in the blue pannel? maybe?

I love the window we got a while back at Habitat for Humanity and the gentlemans chest (the door slides and reveals the other side-shelves and 2 more drawers) was bought at roomstogo outlet in tampa. My good friend Jenny made me the ice cream diaper cake! cuteness!

My mom gave us the cute height scroll on the wall to the left of the closet. That way, we take her measurements and can roll it up and give it to her as a keepsake when she's grown. The flags, I made.

The Peters were so sweet and gave us Abbie's crib.

The rug was $4 at Ross and the Pottery Barn bumper was $10.

I had this idea to paint these pannels on the wall--The whole room was already the tan color (and as a compromise with my husband who just painted the tan when we moved in a year ago and didn't want to change it at all) i decided the whole room didn't need to be PINK.

The accent wall opposite the pannels is a seafoam blue.

I found this dresser on craigslist for cheap and it actually matches the rooms-to-go green chest we got last year. I want to add a mirror over the dresser and my father in law will be making a long, white shelf to be hung above it. It will hold different canisters and photos. I still need to get a tall lamp stand for the shade shown in this picture...

We were given all of these shoes from a little girl at school. I don't own this many pairs of shoes.

(In all of the drawers, I placed scented liners that smell like beach/coconut)

The swing will be placed in the family room more than likely once she comes!

So now in our room--

I set up her changing station on our dresser for now since she will be in our room for a while.

This is the cradle Matt's dad made for us and it was perfect when Isaac was little. The pillows need to come out and I think i will move it to the other wall, closer to the headboard.

The carseat/carrier, boppy (with new cover) and vera bradley diaper bag (ebay $20) all ready to go!

38 weeks in 95 degrees

At my doctor appoiontment today, baby girl's heartbeat was 160 (great) and had the 'echo' with it which my dr said means labor is close! I'm one centimeter and 40% effaced. Braxton Hicks are everyday and I am at the point where I don't want to be in public anymore--just want to curl up on the couch in my pjs! Still working but for sure, maternity leave will start Aug 1st if not sooner =)

How baby's growing:

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long! She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.

Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

Isaac and I were driving back from dinner at my in-laws. It was after 8pm and I was mentioning to Isaac that it was dark outside and late and we needed to get home to check on daddy (he wasn't feeling well).

Then he took control and said, " Mommy, I get in our neighborhood, put on Thomas pajamas, brush the teeth, get a bitamin, kiss my daddy, pray in my room, go sleep... its a deal."

"It's a deal mommy?"

I started laughing which made him laugh and we continued all the way home.

We always say our prayers and normally Matt or I lead him and he repeats us. The other night Isaac led them all by hisself and it began like this...

"Dear Lord,
Thank you for this day. Thank you for my mommy and my daddy. an Isaac and Lucy girl (our dog) and keep da baby healfy an keep uncle Fillup safe (philip is overseas in Afghanastan) {and then he named family members, mentioned school and food and his house and ended with} I love you Lord, Amen."

Matt and I were both in his room when he ended and my heart was overjoyed at his understanding of what is important and how to pray.

It's Fourth of July weekend and all I can think of is lemonade, slow-churned ice cream, grandmommy's apple pie (cravings?), all day beach trips, boating & grilling with family, sun & our bathing suits, and most importantly, the thing that makes sacrifice real; old fashioned chivalry mixed with values, virtues and just plain doing what is right -- and this is what I want my children to think of when they hear Independence Day. I want them to know personally men and women who fight each day for their freedom and I always want them to be thankful for it. My grandpa served in the US Air Force for 20 years, my sister's husband is currently serving in the same branch and my brother-in-law is Chaplain for the US Army. I have other friends and relatives whom I am also grateful for their service. Honor those you know. Isaac is learning to say, I'm an AMERICAN when he sees a flag and refers to the Statue of Liberty as LIBERTY!! (He normally shouts it) It is really inspirational actually!

We have been so busy, working, school work, struggling to get things in order, finish the nursery, pick a name! that i realized I never posted "pics" of the baby!

I have been feeling more braxton hicks and have learned what my sciatic nerve is as she's been pressing on it lately and it makes me feel like a arthritic- legs and back freeze up-so weird!

I will be 36 weeks this week!

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath.

I'm not sure if she will come in July or the first of August (due date is Aug 4th) but I read something encouraging this week about labor & delivery...

For first-time moms, labor takes an average of 15 hours, though it's not uncommon to last more than 20. For women who've previously had a vaginal birth, it takes eight hours, on average.
I won't have time to think if it is 8 hours or less especially since I was in labor for over 24 hours with Isaac! Oh happy day!

The Goings-Ons...

I thought I'd throw an update out there =) I hope the cliffnotes don't bore you stiff...

WORK: I've planned the month of June (hard to believe it's almost over) for the 3 year olds and have been working my 40 hrs/week. It's been nice to have the slower pace of the summer and my co-workers have been so sweet to my pregger self. I am praying for God to do a big blessing as far as work goes. I've always dreamed of having my own pre-school class and am hoping for doors to be opened this coming school year. I've also gotten a few side orders for wedding flowers, so I feel like there's no room to breathe sometimes! Pray for our health and sanity =)

COLLEGE: (Background Info: I never finished my degree for many reasonable explanations and have been 2 classes short. I went to two of my old Professors and a few counselors and after auditing all of my classes, we found I had 7 classes that weren't being used towards anything and a few of them were comprable subsitutions for my 2 missing classes since the requirements have changed since I last attended SSC.) We filled out forms and have been waiting three months to see if the school board and the dean would pass them. After all this time, I got the final approval letter in the mail on Friday and need to go in to meet with a staff to apply for my official diploma! I will finally be a college graduate. Praise God!

I also enrolled in two online college classes (separate from my art degree) which will give me the equivilant of a CDA (a pre-school teaching certificate) and allow me to if/when a class opens, be able to teach! My first class is done and I got an A bringing my GPA up to a 4.0! (whoo-hoo) My second class will end July 29th, soon but close to my due date...(Aug 4th :But Isaac was a week early so we shall see...)

ISAAC: He loves fish so we hung up our old tank on the wall over his dresser in his room. (its long and narrow like a cool piece of moving art/picture--Hogwarts right Krissy?) I wanted him to have something special too (like paint, crib in the nursery..) We bought 4 fish, 3 shrimp (which he looked puzzled when we told him what they were b/c he loves to eat popcorn shrimp =) and a aquatic frog (which always stays underwater?!) ... Sadly, the number of fish is down to two...luckily, my son hasn't counted them yet...

MATT: Workin hard in this Florida HEAT (ugh) and being such a great support for me...always scolding me to put my feet up =) I am so proud and happy to have him. I love my husband.

BABY: Notice i'm still calling her baby at 34 weeks...we do not have a name yet but have been praying about it since we found out we were pregnant. She is moving and her kicks and turns are felt all over. I have felt a lot of lower pressure lately and Dr. said she is head down. She's measuring in the 51% and my hands and feet haven't swelled yet (still sporting my rings!) -knock on wood. We are looking forward to our baby shower on Saturday! B/C i've been so busy, this just doesn't feel real yet!? Well, I guess it feels real (pains and peeing and pressure, OH MY!) but its hard to understand what our new family dynamic will be. The nursery is painted but nothing is hung on the walls yet and we are missing a changing table/dresser. The theme is kind of a "Beaches and Cream" --a boardwalk ice cream parlor, feel. I will be so happy to complete it! I've been too tired to work on it recently. I lost my battery charger along with my mind but pictures are on my to do list.

And very tired after playing in the sprinklers this afternoon when we got home from school.

I am 30 WEEKS!
I went to the OB today and saw Dr Diebel & had a wonderful visit--He is really happy about my weight and mentioned I'm going to be so much smaller than i was with Isaac. Her heart rate is about 150 and measuring perfect. My blood pressure is good and in a normal range but the numbers are high for MY averages so we are just keeping an eye on that. I'm going every two weeks nowadays and Diebel wants to do another ultrasound June 6th! I can't wait to see our little girl again! Here is what's going on in my tum...

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

My grandpa passed away at the age of 75 on my wedding anniversary, April 29th. Happily married to my grandma for 53 years, he is survived by his loving wife Alice. Grandpa was a 20 year Air Force Veteran. He was a collector of Coke a cola, Elvis, Nascar, and N-Scale trains. He learned to engrave Scrimshaw while overseas in the Azores. He loved his country and loved his family and especially enjoyed the skits the grandkids would often preform.

All five of his grandkids were able to speak at his funeral and as we stood there, the underlying message we wanted to give to our families and friends and aquaintances was the hope we have in Christ.

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'

Now, I must say how I feel a bit disappointed that we didn't receive an invitation to the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate, especially since they are using our wedding date to tie the knot =)

April 29th, 2006 I married my best friend.

Thank you Matt for treating me like a true princess. For showing me how worthy and precious I am to you. For captivating my mind and rescuing my heart. You are my love.

Matt surprised me with a Royal Caribbean 3 night cruise and we left for Port Canaveral Friday, the 29th (our 5 year Anniversary).

But we were never supposed to board that ship.

Matt and I didn't know about or ever hear of a rule that you had to be earlier than 24 weeks pregnant in order to sail and I was a good 26.5 weeks along. In order to prove that you are 23 weeks pregnant or earlier, (which i'm not) you have to present a doctors note. Their staff never asked if we were preggers and my dr said i'm healthy and capable. However, we were made to cancel our trip and they luckily gave us our money back.

Needless to say, we were really disapointed but decided to try to make the best of it. We turned around from the coast and had a marvelous lunch at Raglan Road at downtown Disney. The we walked around and ate a yummy ice cream cone at Ghiradeli.

Then we realized that God's plan and timing is perfect.

My mom called and told us that my Grandpa had passed away.

sorry to those who see me daily but i have some sweet cousins and a special sister who are missing out on my belly progress, so here you are girls =)

It is so weird to know our baby girl is 14 inches long and next week I will be in my 3rd trimester but we still don't have a name. I have a favorite but we are still praying about it. We have recieved so many suggestions and appreciate all the input but it is hard working at a school with so many names automatically void and on top of that, we are picky =) It wasn't as hard deciding on Isaac but seems to be much more difficult when talking of girl names...

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches from head to heel!

Saturday, after Isaac's nap our little family went to Burlington to look at their baby depot and then to Lucas Nurseries (a huge plant farm, complete with a butterfly exhbit!) Kids reciece a free potted flower with a shopping adult. It is a really neat place but a bit of a drive.

Our big event of the day was to take Isaac to his first trip to the movie theater! We popped in the Picture Show ($1 theater) and my parents met us there. I have been wanting to see 'Tangled' (the Rapunzel movie) but Matt said he wouldn't go with me unless we had in our company a child under the age of 8. I thought Isaac may like it-- It has a guy with a sword and a funny horse and a silly lizard AND they sing and dance which is entertaining for a 2 year old! It was such a good movie and we had a great time except for the pre-views where Narnia was starred (some of those animals are scary for ME) and first 20 mins where Isaac watched from behind his hands and through this fingers.

There were theives who stole from the castle and the princess was taken by a witchy lookin old lady. Isaac is such a sweet boy and has a real understanding of circumstances. Then Rapunzel comes out and sings and dances and he was good after that. There were a few times he jumped due to noise and suspense but never cried. One of his favorite parts which he will tell you all about is when the little lizard, Pascal tries to wake up Finn Ryder by sticking his tounge in his ear =)

After the movie, we fed ducks at Mimi and Pop's house and Isaac got to "drive" home from the park. Then we met Bubba Neil at Steak & Shake for dinner!

Comedy of Errors

It was surely a Monday.
Lets just say that it was a day that I should've just stayed in bed.

After a few things that happened throughout the day (which in light of the other circumstances weren't as funny or mentionable) I realized I needed 4 things form Walmart to complete our menu for the week.

I picked up Isaac who was in true 'little boy form'. His hair was matted with sweat and his socks looked a little funny riding so high above his shoes. He had bruises and scrapes on his legs from playing so hard and from being so clutsey (from his momma =). He also had two manly pink ladybug stamps on each hand from being so good at school--He then rubbed his eyelid with the back of his hand and no matter how i wiped it, couldn't for some reason remove the now, pink eyeshadow my son was dawning on his right eye. To top it all off, he was covered in Cheeto remains. Oh yeah. We're gonna fit right in at Wallyworld...

Getting out Isaac informs me his cup is empty and I told him we will be home really soon and to wait (even though I know how hard he plays and that he couldve truly used some water/juice) He also started to wimper & said that he is poopy and after a quick check, realized its worse. He's got a bad rash (and did I have cream for it??? NO) from eating pizza the night before (wicked red sauce!). Okay, lets make this quick.

We walk in thru the garden center and there are no carts. Passing by the fish, my little boy suddenly realizes he wants one (and who could blame him?). Trying to be a good mommy, we look and talk and wave to these fish, half of which are belly up. Son, i know you don't understand but we can't buy these half dead fish. Moving on- After 20 mins of searching everywhere, I couldn't find one of the items I was looking for and later once home, realized I completely forgot about the bag of frozen chicken that was ON MY LIST.
Note: Isaac wanted to sit in the back of the cart- which was fine b/c the front of ours was, of course, broken but everytime I start to walk again being in a hurry and the buggy moves, my son not paying attention falls forward or backward from a sitting position? and shouts "Whoa Mommy!"
At this point I feel like we look more like a circus act and are starting to stand out even in Walmart.
He needed Johnson's baby wash (ironically) and I picked up a bottle and being a smart mother, double checked to make sure it had a seal. From the baby dept to the chip isle, i look down hearing spitting noises. Then i smell shampoo. I said, "Isaac what is in your mouth?" Soap, he replied. As soon as I realized he unscrewed the top and bit open the sealed lid, I slipped, almost taking myself out on the shampoo that had dripped from our cart to the floor. Cleanup on Isle 3.

This is no longer safe for us to be in public. Quickest route home avoiding downtown traffic was the 429 bypass and so what if I had to pay tolls? I am getting us home.

Feeling free and driving with no traffic at hwy speeds we are a mile from 441 (5 mins until our street!) and I see on the horizon deadlocked traffic, cars not moving anywhere. No where to pull off until the end of this road. Why are we stopped?! Turns out at the intersection, a semi carrying sod overturned and sod was everywhere. (my desperate thought is now, so what? I've got a jeep get out of my way!) But we waited. And waited, The only forward movement was from closing the gaps when cars decided to make a U-turn thru the grass median and go back. This upset a HUGE nest of bees that nest underground and they started to swarm! They were hitting the windows and were ticked to be disturbed. They were swarming the front of our engine. Knowing that a mouse somehow at one point crawled into our air vent, I began to conclude that these wasps could as well come in the vents too! I closed them off and prayed to move! Isaac said, "Mommy look at those bugs!" Yes dear, I see them. The baby managed to wedge herself into a bad spot and I couldn't get her off my bladder! It hurts! We all had to funnel into one lane and wait for the traffic light. 20 mins later, we were home.

I paid the county $1 in tolls to tack on an additional 30 mins to my commute. Sometimes you just gotta laugh!

Did I mention I have a dentist appointment today?

Spring Break--part 1

What a fun day! My cousin from GA was down for her Spring Break and our Grandma decided to send the girls (and Isaac) to Disney to celebrate! Matt was so sweet and picked Isaac up around 3 so he could get a nap in and the girls could stay till close...Here are a few shots of our trip!

So my son is one of the more social, friendly kids I know. When he wants to be. (He gets it from his father)
He loves Mickey mouse and mostly all things Disney (he gets that from me) but he has entered a fearful stage. He has been telling me lately, "No go to school today, mommy." or "no wanna go to church with kids". Four months ago, this wasn't an issue and i know it should pass eventually, but what happened to my outgoing child? We went to a character breakfast with our good friends, the Lemlers and Isaac loved everything...

except when the characters would come over to say, hi.

(Oh well. He'll grow out of it. I did. When my parents took me to my first disney breakfast, i climbed across the table over plates and all to get away from Chip and Dale)

At home he is still a madman, running all over the place and tackling daddy and singing and telling me stories with his wonderful sense of things. His perspective is what i'm loving most as he is able to explain himself more fully. While watching American Idol today when a contestant would end their audition, Isaac would look up from his dancing and say, "mommy, make dem sing! I dancin!" My little ball of energy and personality.

My mom is doing great as shes in the midst of her fight with breast cancer. She is slowly accepting all that is surrounding her and is being so brave! She just got a few ADORABLE wigs and they are SO her! God has blessed us with an outpouring of support and encouragement and I know it will truly help when the chemo starts beginning of March. We are so thankful for all God is teaching us and showing us. Thank you for your prayers and keep 'em comin. =)

update on mom

After all day in surgery and pre-op last Friday, we were able to see mom at 7pm in the evening. Surgery took about 2 hours longer than anticipated due to cancer in an unexpected lymphnode. She was released around noon Saturday and dad brought her home shortly after. She has been recovering well and we all are so thankful for your prayers.

She had a peace about doing a double masectomy which was done and after finding a lump in lymphnode, they removed 12 to test. Drs said if they found cancer in 3 or more, chemo would be a must.

A call from her Dr this afternoon and we rejoyced as she gave us some good news; It is not in any other lymphnodes! Now results being sent to California for more testing to see how aggressive her type of cancer is. Depending on results (should know in 10 days) will determine treatment... From chemo and radiation or maybe just a chemo pill taken once a day for 5 years. We're pulling for the pill =)

She is eating and talking well in between times of "grogginess". There is pain. A good deal of it but no complaints out of momma.
Praise Him who is so good!

Oh! Another plus... MY SISTER is here from Missouri! Dad flew her in to be with momma while she is recovering. My brother got it all on video--check out the SURPRISE Before Mom's surgery...

My mom is such an amazing woman. So loving and giving and self-less. She works so diligently and cares about others, always putting them first. NEVER herself. So maybe, if you would, lift my mom up today. She could use encouragement and would appreciate the moment you thought of her. Friday morning she will have a double mastectomy to rid the breast cancer that snuck up on us all. We know that this is no surprise to God and He, for whatever reason, is allowing this strong woman to see her strengths and what's maybe even harder, to fully rely on Christ and let others step in and demonstrate how much we love her. He will make it all right and we will have a stronger faith and re-newed strength afterwards.

For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands,

It looks like our boys in green and yellow are headed to the Superbowl after their win yesterday against the Chicago Bears! Green Bay won 21-14 and I'm sure Jay Cutler is still crying about it. The only thing missing yesterday was Favre calling the plays and firing the ball downfield. Here's hoping for a big win in two weeks! Maybe then, the Packers and I can share something else in common...the love of Disney World.

Happy New Year! a little late =)
Well it took a while...6 weeks of solid nausea! but i think the tide is ebbing. I have a little more energy and feel better. And though still get queasy 2-3 times a day, it usually subsides with a little snack. I'm 12 weeks along and within a few days time, will welcome my 2nd trimester!
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, toes will curl, eye muscles will clench, and mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it yet. Nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. Eyes have moved from the sides to the front of baby's head, and ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

We've been up to a lot with Christmas, a Colorado Wedding and Isaac's 2nd Birthday! All exciting details and interesting photos to come! But for now, I leave you with this thought for the day...

Steph is 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant today! So excited to introduce you to our little 'Who'. The size of a grain of rice. With a heartbeat of 116 beats per minute.
Who can deny that there's a GOD! And with the ability to make me nauseous at the sight or smell of almost anything, especially foods! Yuck. Except for peaches and saltines and fried chicken =) And chickfila cookies and cream milkshakes! (I haven't had one yet in case you're feeling generous) I am crying a lot easier and fatigued as if i'm totally dragging through the days...so sleepy! I fell asleep on the way back to work from the doctor today -while MATT was DRIVING...c'mon people

Isaac is cute and repeats that mommy has a baby in her tummy and he is excited when you ask him if he wants a baby but obviously, doesn't entirely understand. When asked what was in mommy's tummy yesterday by his teacher, he proudly replied, "Baby Jesus."

I'm glad something is sticking when we talk about the bible. =)

I will start off by saying God made us all with a wonderful sense of curiosity. Little boys, it seem, have a great deal more.

Matt and I were talking on the porch with the door open and we looked down and realized Isaac was in the house AND it was quiet. He was supposed to be getting his football in the living room to play outside with daddy. We ran in and found this...

Isaac apparently decided to check out the "balls" hanging on the tree. Within a minute, he successfully yanked the hooks and tops off a dozen ornaments...(the gold stuff scattered around the floor) i guess he liked the effect.

He was pretty sorry and tried to help us replace all the parts

With so much to be Thankful for, i'm trying my best to be completely satisfied with the holiday even though we are celebrating our first Thanksgiving without my little sister as she remains in Missouri. We are also missing Matt's mom, Chris who is in Wisconsin comforting Grandma Baeten after her stroke and the Carsons who now live in North Carolina. Our family has been hit with a few health issues and God's been growing us inside and out. I am so thankful that God is so good and patient with me as i struggle with 'the little things'. 'The little things' i get hung up on and worried about. Things of this world that don't matter.

So after the wedding and all of its festivities, i bid my sister farewell to her 'moonyhun' and wanted a short reprieve of my own. My cousin was staying with us and wasn't returning to Canada for a few days. So I told myself that i didn't have to ride, HP, The Forbidden Journey. You know those signs they have everywhere (for insurance purposes) saying, if you have health issues, dizziness, back pains, may be preggers, eye trouble, think you're a moose, if you think you can fly, if you have knee pain or an ingrown toenail OR if youre a wimp (BINGO) this may not be the ride for you...It was making me more nervous but i didn't want to miss anything! So in we went. First you have to walk into the gates and past the "sample ride vehicle seat" to make sure you dont feel claustrophobic. I didnt even sit b/c i thought i may hyperventilate.

Red Flag #2 It is manditory that you put everything into a complimentary locker. And they don't give you a key to unlock it..its your fingerprint! I was so busy looking at everything around me to realize that the wait was over--We made it to the front of the line and I panicked. I DONT RIDE COASTERS. I slipped through the gate and waited for my dissapointed cousin on the other side. People were getting off screaming, "That was AWESOME!", "Can you believe that!?!"
Well, no. I don't know what you're talking about. Then I see my cousin who made a B-line for me. "You MUST go on that." As we were arguing, one of the workers came over and asked if there was a problem =) I said we were just leaving and my cousin with one look at the guy made him understand the situation. He took us to the side and re-assured me that I needed to go on this. It wasnt a coaster (NOT to say it was a wimpy ride in the slightest) but a mix of simulation, dark ride and i don't even know what...He didn't seem like a liar so i too his word and said "okay." The guy took us to the front of the line, stopped people and sat us down. (By now my cousin is beaming b/c she gets to ride the most popular ride of the year, twice within 45 mins) It was now or never. I pulled the chest bar down over my head and it was done..i was committed.

Scenes literally unfold around you. I don’t think there is an inch of the space allotted for this ride that isn’t utilized as part of the show. It has won Best Theme Park Ride and even though it took me through the ringer, deserves its title.

After I couqured one big ride, i figured what the heck...lets do another.

Just kidding...that was taken on a dr suess ride.
But i did ride Flight of the Hippogriff

a well deserved, butterbeer! (no, it doesnt have alcohol)

We went into all the shops! Zonkos and Honetdukes were my favs...they have Every Flavour Jelly Beans...like grass, dirt and boogers--ew.

I had to say goodbye, for now to my sister tonight.

Justin and my sister are moving away to Missouri in the morning. Needless to say, it was a bittersweet evening and I will miss her more than you know. She will make a wonderful wife and is a gem to those who are fortunate enough to know the real girl.

I wish you the happiest of ever afters and could not part from you, my dear Brittany, for anyone less worthy.

I know you are waiting for photos of my sisters wedding but it will have to wait a bit longer...i don't have them yet =( They are on their honeymoon and i miss her more than i could say! She was a beautiful bride and it was a gorgeous day! Until then, i wanted to show you my new dining room light fixture that two of the talented men in my life have made for me. I designed the light and Matt and his dad made it happen...Its so pretty!

School Days

I am so glad that Isaac is in the "big boy" class that he is. They have a daily routine, do crafts, songs, books, playground, gym time, lunch and nap. They also follow a cirriculum which is awesome! But the biggest change being in the "big boy" class is that of parent participation. We have a calendar which says what we will be learning and what to bring in. (for example: manners week: bring in a snack to share; colors week: wear red to school) This past week was 'all about me' and we were asked to bring in a family photo. Had this assignment been to bring in a 'self-portrait, thats one thing. I have millions of photos of Isaac. But this was to be of all three of us...In the same photo??! Do i photoshop myself in?

The following are of our imprompto family photo session on his changing table...without my makeup, Isaac has no pants and after Matt put a shirt on...5 mins before bedtime...the night before the photo is "due" at school. I printed them out on my computer with an ink cartridge that should've been changed a month ago.
(We dont seem too hopeful for science projects down the road...)
