...so my little brother is a SENIOR (AHHH!!!) and will graduate next month-but before they do in true senior fashion, their class is having spirit week and today is 'super-hero' day where they choose a superhero and dress up...
Now before I go on you have to understand that the Sargents love Disney---I mean really LOOOVEE Disney

so my lil bro picks, none other than the man in tights himself (no, not Robin Hood) PETER PAN!

and then realizes he needs the costume...

so he calls his awesomely creative big sister-not tooting my own horn-but facts are facts...to make him one...

Now these are the rough photos (it has to be ironed) and you don't have the full effect b/c he's got other clothes on underneath and the pics don't show his sword, green tights and moccasins but here he is...

my calendar fetish

I wanted to show you my calendar...Its a really big deal because for some reason I'm absolutely picky when it comes to wall calendars. It's gotta have a certain look, large boxes to write in, have the wire hanging and have pockets... I know what you're thinking but realize I acknowledge my falts and am still telling you about it...

We finally gave up and ordered it online because I couldn't find one like I got last year in the stores and with our adventure we lovingly call Isaac, I JUST NOW got my calendar--and its APRIL! thats ok...better late than never...

School Days

I took this yesterday when i stopped in to check on Isaac-Its such a blessing being able to see him and nurse him during the day. Miss Savannah gave him a stuffed lamb to hold (yes, its pink =) because i forgot his 'aldergator' at home. He was a busy man--just a talking to it and holding it... He is also into chewing now--Teething will soon be upon us--yikes!

Last night we had wonderful time at Adam and Angela's house! Jacob is getting so big and it was fun to watch his reaction to Isaac being there! We talked and had fun playing the Wii! Adam & Angela showed us a new game they have--Its like the old duck hunt, obviously updated, but the concept is the same. I wasn't too shabby =) (call me Annie Oakley) She made yummy salad and homemade potpies and for dessert we brought brownies!! Today we are running some errands & going to Beef O Bradys (i have coupons!) for lunch because our house is supposed to show from 11-2?! --praypraypray.

Just Us

We hope your weekend was wonderful and will soon post about our perfect Easter Sunday but right now, i just wanted to throw some pictures up of what's been going on in the Metzler household lately...

"I am such a big boy!!"
Isaac has been doing so well! Being in a routine helps with feedings and naps and he's been such a good boy at 'school'! =) His colic is getting better and he's responding more to Matt and I. He LOVES to smile and 'talk' (ooooo is currently his favorite word) and he chews on his fists. He is also sitting more steady and has been practicing in his bumbo...

We have been watching cardinals nesting in the tree right outside our front door for a few weeks now and every time Matt checks, there are 3 speckled eggs inside and mom & dad birdies aren't far away...Well, they hatched this week! Lord, Your creation is amazing!



This week, Isaac was crying hysterically and Matt couldn't get him to calm down. I heard the crying stop and Matt called for me to come and see what Isaac was doing...I walked in & my child was staring, gaping at the TV!!! (NO!! not at this young of an age!) He was hilarious! Matt thought it was funny to turn around (hiding the tv from view and listen to the crying- Then, turn and voila`! ...silence) After saying all of this, enjoy a peek as Isaac 'watched' (parts) of his 1st movie...The Tale of Despereaux!

We are so proud of our family and love sharing how God has blessed us! Thanks for giving us the opportunity to do so =) We appreciate your comments, prayers and support

(Mommy, I like my cousins and their friends!)

I got to meet my cousin Shanny and Aunt Betty for the first time this week! They were down from Georgia on Spring Break and came to Florida to hang out! (but mostly i think to see me!) Shannon brought some of her nice friends with her an they held me! And Guess WhAt?! We went to the beach on Sunday! It was my first time near the ocean!

I loved the sea breeze and listening to those things called waves! I got some sun and look super handsome with my new glowing tan =) The girls went to Disney (a place my mommy talks about all the time and says i'm gonna go there often and love it!) and Great-grandma and Grandpa Sargent bought me my first mickey ears! They're a lil big but daddy says i'll grow into them! (i don't get it though? all this fuss about a mouse?!)

new recipe!

I'm so excited about dinner tomorrow night! Seems Isaac is too--

he's gotten really good at sucking that thumb!! (oh no)
Mmmmmm Mommy, that smells good!

I found this recipe in parenting magazine and can tell it's going to be a family favorite! You make it ahead so when you want it for dinner the next night, just pop it in the oven at 350 for 45 mins.

1/2 lb mozzarella
1/4 lb prosciutto (i used thin sliced ham)
3 med tomatoes
loaf french/Italian bread
5 eggs
1 1/4 cups skim milk
1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
grated Parmesan cheese

1.) 9 by 13 baking pan w/ cooking spray
2.) in LARGE bowl, toss mozzarella, ham, tomatoes and bread--Arrange evenly in baking pan
3.) beat eggs and mix all other ingredients
4.) pour over bread, tilting to soak all bread cubes evenly--cover and store at least 3 hrs or overnight
5) let stand for 20 mins before baking-sprinkle with parm cheese before serving.

Our first family portrait

Last Saturday, we had our first 'formal' family portraits taken! It was a beautiful morning and we met the Metzler side in Winter Garden Village for pictures at Portrait Innovations. The sitting went rather well besides the fact that we had 3 children and a baby and they were running behind so it took some time before they could see us. Afterwards, we had a wonderful treat; lunch at Carrabbas! yummy!

Isaac's first day at school!

Okay so it was his 1st day in the nursery but I'm sure it's just as hard as watching him bounce off too kindergarten! On Tuesday, I decorated his crib with a few pictures of us (on the outside of the glass but facing in) and placed his blanket and 'aldergator' inside as well! I signed a form allowing the staff to give him mylacon drops and diaper ointment and gave them a bag full of his huggies...he's official. There were some tears even though he's just down the hall--It was a first to give him to someone other than family...and for ALL DAY! I was able to nurse him yesterday so that was precious 'mommy time' that i needed. I also checked in on him a few times yesterday (once in particular when i heard a few babies screaming-and even though I told Brenda, that's not my baby cryin his head off-went to peek anyway) and he was sound asleep in a little bouncer. He enjoyed his swing (which we already knew) but also loved his crib mobile. He just laid there and watched it--He loves looking around--Everyone who meets him calls him 'bright eyes' =)

Well, on to day 2! (Is it the weekend yet?!?)
